Can someone give me advice? I would like to know why I am receiving so little amount of money back for federal and state. I worked more than I’m getting.

Aother way to find out why is to make a line by line comparison of this return and the prior one(s).

did you have tax taken out of your paycheck?

That's supposed to cover your income tax.
