Can someone explain how TurboTax calculated the Alternative Minimum Tax Credit Carryover? The value Turbo Tax calculated is not a reasonable amount.

The credit was initially calculated in 2013 and appears to be about 10x the total amount of Alternative Minimum Tax I have ever paid in total.

that was a thread a few years back that Turbotax at some point in the past had messed up the AMT carryover. the reason was taxpayers were complaining that they were getting bills from the iRS because of this "error"  Turbotax may no longer have a copy of the 2013 return because it only keeps them (supposedly for 6 years same as the IRS but somehow the IRS caught the error even though it arose more than 6 years prior) ) which means it likely no longer has a copy. but it doesn't hurt to contact them.  did you keep your own copy because form 8801 is where the carryover is computed? However, the "error", if there is one may go back even farther, if you had a carryover from an earlier year. 

see this thread where the error, if there was one, may go back to 2008 or earlier.
