Can my wife and I file single if we were not married more then 6 months last year?

My wife and I married in august last year. Prior to the marriage she was a dependent of her parents. So can my wife and I file single for last year since we were married less then 6 months?

If you are married on the last day of the year, you are considered Married and can only Married filing Jointly OR Married filing Separately. You cannot file as Single.
