Can I use my last check stub of a job Ive had for 2 months in 2023 to file?

My husband got a new job in November of 2023. Is there any way we can use the last check stub to file taxes with?

No. You must wait for the W-2.  If you never get one, there is a procedure that must be followed to file without one.

No, you can't use your last paycheck to file your tax return, at least not for early filers.

You must wait until you get your W-2 and if you don't receive it by January 31, you have to contact your employer to request one. If you have moved since you left your job, it's best to reach out to the employer before the end of January to give them your correct address.

If your employer has made your W-2 available electronically, you can get the form online.

If you still don't have your W-2 form by the end of February, you should contact the IRS for help. They will contact your employer and remind them of their obligation to provide your W-2 by January 31.

Follow this link to get details about how to complete your return if you can't get your W-2 or 1099 forms.

If you still don't get the form, you can file using Form 4852, Substitute for W-2, and the information that you have about the wages you were paid. Follow this link to learn how to do this in TurboTax.
