Can I use my EIN number instead of my social security number under self-employed personal information?

UPDATED FOR TAX YEAR 2019

Yes.  Since you have an EIN for your business you can enter it using these steps:

  1. Click on the Income & Expenses tab.
  2. In the Self-Employment section click the Start/Revisit box.
  3. On the screen, Your 2019 self-employed work summary, click the Edit box next to your business.
  4. On the Here's your [business type] info screen, click on the Edit box next to General Info.
  5. On the next screen, click on the Edit icon (pencil) in Payments and identification
  6. After a few screens you will come to Do you have your own Employer ID Number (EIN)?
  7. Mark the Yes radio button.  Enter your EIN in the box that appears and click Continue.
