I purchased TT home and business for my 1040, can I upgrade to TT business and be able to use the same program for both my personal and a trust return?

No. There is no upgrade path from the TurboTax personal income tax preparation products to TurboTax Business, the latter of which involves a separate purchase. 

Further, TurboTax Business cannot be used to prepare an individual income tax return; it is for entities only (e.g, partnerships, corporations, estates/trusts). 

TurboTax Business must be installed and run in a Windows environment; there is no Online or Mac version of the product.
