Can I still file with TurboTax without making a payment to the IRS?

I owe, but need to set up a payment plan. Can I file via TurboTax without making an initial payment to the IRS?

Can I still file with TurboTax without making a payment to the IRS?

Yes, when you go through the File interview, you can either apply for a payment plan through TurboTax, or if you can e-file your Federal return and choose to pay taxes owed by mailing a check.  This will get you through to e-file your return.  Then you can go on the IRS website to apply for the payment plan.

If you choose the check option, a payment voucher may print after you file, you can just throw it away.

Yes, you can complete your return and file without making a payment. Just select the option to pay by check and then don't actually follow through with mailing  the payment.

I believe the installment arrangement makes you enter automatic payment information, so you may need to wait on the installment agreement until you can make the first payment.

You can make your own installment agreement outside of TurboTax. Click here to learn more.
