My husband passed away and I need a Wage and Income Transcript for him. I moved and no longer have a forwarding address. I cannot change his address from the last tax return. How do I speak to a live IRS agent?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
You won't need to speak to an IRS agent to get a 2014 Wage and Income Transcript. There are several ways to get one. But I will tell you how to speak to the IRS at the bottom of this posting, just in case.
You may be able to download one right now by establishing an account on the IRS website, which gives you instant access. Transcripts should be available with that tool back to 2014.
https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
Choose the blue button "Get Transcript Online." Then choose to "create an account."
I don't know if the fact that you have changed addresses will cause a problem. It does a little security questionnaire, so that might be a problem.
If for some reason you don't qualify to establish the account for a download (or don't want to), you can order a transcript at that site to come by mail. That takes 5-10 calendar days. At the page linked above find the "Get Transcript by Mail" button.
It's also possible to order a transcript over the telephone to come by mail. To order by phone, see the phone number displayed at this IRS webpage:

Yet another way to get one is by faxing or mailing Form 4506-T to the IRS.
