Can I see if my tax payment information was correctly transmitted to IRS?

I chose to file an extension, but since I owe taxes to IRS, I opted for TurboTax to transmit my payment information. It's now over a week since the tax payment deadline and I see that IRS did not pull any money from my bank account. I am concerned about late payment penalties even though I did everything on time through TurboTax. Is there a way to see in TurboTax that everything is ok and the payment information was transmitted to IRS on time?

Has your return been accepted?  If it has been accepted then only the IRS would know when they will debit your account.  The IRS is backlogged so it is taking them longer to issue refunds and withdraw a debit payment.

When will my tax payment go through?

Funds are usually withdrawn on the payment date you specify in TurboTax, assuming your e-filed return has already been accepted (received) by the IRS. If that date falls on a weekend or federal holiday, the funds are typically withdrawn the next business day.

If you file right before (or on) the busy April 18, 2022 deadline, the IRS may not be able to debit your payment until after the deadline due to high e-filing volume. Additionally, it can take your bank another few days to post the debit to your account.

Don't worry. As long as you filed your return (or extension) on or before April 18, 2022, and you selected April 18, 2022 (or earlier) as your payment date, you won't get penalized for late payment.

If you still don't see the debit in your bank account 7–10 days after your return has been accepted, call IRS e-file Payment Services at 1-888-353-4537 or contact your state tax agency.

To check on your direct debit information, see the following:

Call IRS e-file Payment Services 24/7 at 1-888-353-4537 to inquire about or cancel your payment, but please wait 7 to 10 days after your return was accepted before calling. Cancellation requests must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. ET two business days prior to the scheduled payment date.
