The 2019 estimated tax vouchers that were included by default in my 2018 TT Self-Employed tax return showed a decrease in federal tax liability of over $2000.00 from last year, even though I entered a higher income estimate for 2019 into the system.

I called TT customer support twice about the discrepancy, but unfortunately they couldn't help. So glad I spent more time searching the community threads for my answer! I followed these instructions to get back into my already submitted return, entered my 2019 estimates, and I now have a much more accurate estimated 2019 tax liability. Had I relied on the TT provided vouchers (which I wouldn't have anyway, but others just might), I would have ended up owing approximately $5000.00 next April.

I hope that by sharing my experience, others in this community will look twice at their estimated tax vouchers.
