Can I see a TurboTax 2017 file with TurboTax 2018?

I used TurboTax 2017 last year, but lost the program when my computer crashed. I still have the file for the return. I need to look up something on a worksheet, which was not saved on the PDF of the return. Do I have to download 2017 again to be able to view the file?

Yes, you'll have to use TurboTax Download to see your 2017 income taxes, schedules and worksheets.  

• Select your TurboTax product for 2017.

The 2017.tax income tax file can't be opened in 2018 TurboTax. However, you can transfer the 2017.tax file so the permanent information can carry over into 2018.
