Can I run a what-if on the desk top version 2023 tax year?

I want to determine the tax liability of removing a rental that I sold in 2023.

Yes, the 2023 TurboTax desktop edition has a What-If Worksheet you can access in Forms mode.  Click on View at the top of the desktop program screen, click on Forms.  When in Forms mode click on Open Form at the top left of the page.  Then type in what-if.  Click on the highlighted result to open the worksheet.

On your TurboTax Desktop 2023 version, you may create a duplicate of your 2023 Federal 1040 income tax return.

Create the duplicate using the Save as under File.

Then in the duplicate file, you may make as many changes as you like.
