mail early. even the USPS is experiencing delays in deliveries due to short staff due to the pandemic. you may want to use a method where you get proof of delivery. a package sent to me from Seattle, WA to Chicago, IL took 10 days rather than the usual 10 and there have been more news reports lately of people finding undelivered mail in garbage cans and even people not receiving mail for weeks at a time. the alternative is directpay thru the IRS website but you have to be careful in entering correct info such as routing and a/c numbers. yo can specify the ate the payment will be charged and when done there is an option to print a receipt.
