No, that will not work out. If you owe the IRS for back taxes, then the IRS will seize your refund and TurboTax will not be paid from the refund. What happens is then TT goes in to your bank account and deducts the fee. Best to pay TT upfront with a credit card. That will save you the $39.99 refund processing fee. If you do not have a credit card, get a pre-paid one at Walmart, etc. for the amount you need to pay TT.
