Yes, absolutely. You can e-file (and pay) your federal and state tax returns at different times until the due date, April 15, 2020.

Yes, they can be submitted independently of each other.  In other words, they can be done at different times.  Both however, have the same deadline of April 15th at the latest they can be submitted without penalty.  Beth
