Yes. If the return was rejected, you have 5 days to fix it and resubmit. Correct the mistaken SSN and any other items that need correction and re-submit.

Well, you can just go ahead and e-file as if it had not previously been attempted. But it is going to be considered a late filing, as it is now after April 15. The five day resubmission window would have acted as if you filed successfully on the date of original filing.
