Can I make a change to my employer's ID number?

After I e-filed my 2016 income tax, my employer sent me a revised W2 with the only change being a revised tax id number

If you have already submitted your return, then you cannot go back and change it. If your return gets rejected by the IRS, you will then be able log back into your account and correct the employer ID and then resubmit your return.
