Many people confuse "SSI" with Social Security benefits, and use the wrong terminology here.  If you are actually receiving SSI--Supplemental Security Income-- you do not enter that anywhere on a tax return.  No tax document is issued for SSI.

 What are you trying to enter?  Do you get Social Security benefits-- did they issue a SSA1099 to you?  It cannot be imported.   You have to enter it by keying in the information yourself.

Go on the Social Security website and request one.  Go to www.ssa.gov  You have to create an account with a user name and password.

 Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security  (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.

TurboTax does not support importing SSA-1099s.

However, SSI is not generally taxable so that form is not issued.
