Can I file state and federal taxes without income?

I am a full-time medical student who receives loans in order to afford tuition, room & board, books & supplies, etc. I am also not employed, but I was told to file taxes prior to entering residency. Am I still able to file federal and state taxes (without income information)? Since I do not have a W2, I cannot include this information in the online application, which then requires me to file my federal tax return by mail. Is there any way to file my states taxes online, or both state and federal taxes, without income? Thank you!

No, if you have no income to report, you will not file Federal and State Income tax returns.  You do not report loans as income.
