Can i file single if I wasnt married the entire year?

It depends on your legal status as of December 31, 2021. Were you legally married? If so, you can only file as married jointly, married separately, or head of household (if you meet the qualifications). But you can't file as single or qualifying widow(er).

If you were single as of December 31, 2021, you could qualify as single, head of household, or qualifying widow(er).
