Can I file my taxes off my check without my w2
No, you cannot use your paystub. Wait for the W-2 since the IRS receives a copy of your W-2 from your employer so your tax return has to have the same information as is on the W-2. Employers have until January 31, 2019 to provide a W-2.
The IRS is not even accepting any type of 2018 tax return until January 28, 2019.

Please do not try to use your pay stub to prepare your tax return. It will not match the W-2 that you will get from your employer in just a few short weeks. You employer has until the end of January to give you your W-2. By waiting for your W-2 you will be able to file accurately. If you try to guess what goes in the W-2 “boxes” and mess up your return, you will need to amend. It takes about 4 months to amend a tax return. The IRS is not accepting 2018 returns yet—and probably will not be accepting them until January 28, so you can wait for your W-2.
