Can I file my 2022 taxes without filing my 2021 taxes first?

NO..and ...Yes..

1) NO, you cannot file your 2021 taxes using the mobile app...nor using the "Online" software.

2) Yes you can file your 2022 taxes using the Mobile app, and the Online software without filing 2021 taxes first...BUT if your 2021 tax return ends up having some carryover credits, you might have to come back later in the year to amend your 2022 tax return,  Also, I do not recommend using a phone or narrow screen device to prepare and file.....use a large screen tablet or full computer.  People miss far too many important items with all the scrolling involved on a phone/narrow screen.

3) In order to prepare and file your 2021 taxes now, you will have to print and mail-file them.  E-filing them (2021 taxes) at this late date has been closed since last October.   Preparing your 2021 taxes now, would require you to buy & install the desktop/download software on a full Windows or MAC computer.  No phones or mobile devices.
