Can I file married jointly if my spouse passed away in 2018?

This is helpful!  I have an additional question - he filed the joint 2017 taxes under his TurboTax username.  Do I file the 2018 joint under that name or under mine (which I did as a solo except for the joint 2017 filing).

If you use his userid and password to sign onto the 2018 account then the 2017 tax data will transfer over.  You would want to keep whomever's name was entered first on the 2017 return the same on the 2018 tax return.
For tax year 2019 you would want to create a new account just for yourself.
