can i file head of household with ssi and 100%va

If your VA is disability and not taxable, and this is your only income besides the SSI, you would not have any taxable income and would not need to file a return.  Filing as head of household will only help you if you have taxable income to reduce.  

Does your GF work or have taxable income?  Are the kids both of yours?  If she does, the it is possible that she could claim head of household.
