Yes, yes you may. You will just need to make sure your Federal is accepted before you are able to file your State. It may loop you back if you try to file them both at the same time since you are not filing them together, so make sure to select "Not ready to file" on your state when you e-file your Federal. Once your Federal is accepted, follow the steps below to file your State by mail -
- Sign into your account.
-Click My TurboTax menu > Visit My Tax Timeline
-Under SOME THINGS YOU CAN DO click on Add a state (You are not adding a state to your return. This allows you to get back into your return.)
-Click File on the left.
-Follow the onscreen instructions. Until you get to a page that says "Here are your filing choices."
-Under your returns select "I'd like to change filing methods."
-In here, next to your federal return select "I'm not ready to file." Next to your state select how you want to file.
-Click Save at the bottom.
-On the left side of your screen, click . Print Center
-In the popup, choose the option Print, save, or preview this year’s return.
-If you haven't paid or registered yet, you'll be prompted to do so before you can continue to the next step.
Select the desired print option and follow the on-screen instructions.
