Depends on which Jan you are talking about (Jan of 2018 or Jan of 2019).
1) IF you married in Jan of 2018, and you are using your own Online account for your 2018 taxes, then you must leave yourself and your own SSN in the first position on the new 2018 MFJ tax return and his name and SSN in the spouse's place. Otherwise, you would have to start a brand new account (or use his tax account if he has one) in order to put your name in the spouse's spot. The first spot in the software is technically called the TP or Taxpayer's spot...but both of you are actually a spouse of the other person.
OR...
2) IF you married in Jan of 2019. Then you can only file your own Single tax return for 2018 (or HOH if you had a dependent) . BUT.....You CANNOT use your Online tax account to file his single tax return for 2018...to do so would irreversibly destroy you own tax file. He has to have his own Online account for 2018 taxes if you married in Jan of 2019.
