Can I download the returns from multiple states using the premier CD version?

Are you switching to the desktop software?

Do you mean you need to use software to prepare returns for more than one state? When you purchase desktop (CD/download) software it includes the software for one specific state. If you have other state returns to prepare for different states then each state program has to be purchased as a download for $44.99.

When you use desktop software, there is an additional fee to e-file a state return. You can avoid that fee if you print, sign and mail the state return. The state e-file fee is $19.99 and increases in March.

Using the TurboTax desktop editions you can e-file up to 3 separate state income tax returns.

To purchase and download a state program other than your one free state program download, click on Online at the top of the desktop program screen. Click on Download State.

Additional state software is currently $40 each and the e-file fee for each state tax return is currently $20 (subject to change on or after March 1). The e-file fee can be avoided by printing and mailing the state tax return.
