Can I do review and sign without filing yet?

If you are e-filing (Electronically Filing) your 2025 tax return you do not physically sign the tax return in ink.  You enter the 2024 AGI from your 2024 federal tax return Form 1040 Line 11 for your electronic signature.

If you want to view/print your complete return you must pay the TurboTax account fees before filing.

To pay the TurboTax online account fees by credit card, without completing the 2025 return at this time, click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Then click on Print Center. Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return. On the next page, to pay by credit card, click Pay Now. Complete the credit card section and click on Confirm payment.

However, you can view your Form 1040 plus Schedules 1, 2 and 3 at any time using the online editions. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.

Can I do review and sign without filing yet?

You can review your tax return in TurboTax without filing immediately. You can preview your Form 1040 and check for any errors. However, TurboTax typically requires you to pay all fees before you can access the final, complete return to review and sign it.

To see the full, finalized PDF (including your state return(s)), you generally must pay your TurboTax fees first. You can pay using a credit card to do this to review it beforehand

You can just stop before the final "File" section of the interview process and not actually submit your return.

To preview your tax return, you can:

 For TurboTax Desktop:

  1. Click on Forms at the top right of your TurboTax program to  switch to Forms Mode, and then
  2. Scroll through your forms in the left panel and
  3. Click on the form you want to preview (Form 1040)

For TurboTax Online:

  1. Go to "Tax Tools" in your left panel,
  2. Select "Tools" and then
  3. Select "View Tax Summary" and
  4. Select "Preview Form 1040"
