Can I delete the recovery rebate credit? I have 5 dependents I'm claiming this year. I received a stimulus payment for 2 of them. Their father got it for the other 3.

TurboTax asks how much I received and when I enter 4200, it tries to give me the stimulus for the 3 but their father received it. Don't wanna be audited.

The only "audit" is the fact-checking the IRS has to do when both parents file separate returns and claim the same dependent(s).

IRS never asks for the Rebate Credit back.

In various scenarios, both parents can end up getting it.

Not to be confused with the Advance Child Tax Credit.
