Can I correct form 14039?
Yes, if you have not yet filed your tax return or if you have already filed and your tax return has been rejected. Please follow the steps below to return to the form.
- Sign into your Online account and select Take me to my return.
- Select Federal in the left side bar.
- Next select Other Tax Situations at the top.
- Scroll down to Other Return Info
- Then select Start/Revisit next to Identity Theft Affidavit.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to Edit the form.
If for some reason you need to delete the form, follow these steps instead.
- Open your return in TurboTax. (To do this, sign in to TurboTax, and select the Take me to my return button.)
- In the left side bar, select Tax Tools then select Tools.
- In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
- Select Delete next to Form 14039 and follow the onscreen instructions.
