If all of the following apply then yes, you can claim your fiance as a dependent on your return.  The rules for claiming a non-relative as your dependent are as follows:

  1. She cannot be claimed as a dependent if they are eligible to be claimed as a dependent on another tax return. Whether she is being claimed is irrelevant, it’s the eligibility that matters.
  2.  She also must be a U.S. citizen, resident alien, national, or a resident of Canada or Mexico
  3.  She is not a “qualifying child” of a taxpayer.
  4. She earned less than $4,050 in taxable income (amount of the personal exemption) in 2017
  5. She did not provide her own support. You must provide more than half of the total support for the year
  6. She lived with you all year as a member of your household

 Claiming GF as a dependent

The easiest way to determine if you can claim your girlfriend as a dependent is to enter her into TurboTax as a dependent and answer the questions and TurboTax will determine if you can claim her.
