Can i change my fed tax submission option from e-file to by mail?

Yes if you have not filed yet or it rejects.  But you have to pay the fees first.

for me, the file by mail is option is disabled for fed tax. i can change the state tax to file by mail option. Any idea why file by mail for fed tax is disabled. I have chosen to pay the fed tax by credit card

Did you pay the Turbo Tax fees?  You can't have the fees deducted from your refund to file by mail.  How to remove the Pay from your Refund fee

i have already paid the turbo tax fees using credit card (not from my refund)

All I can think of is go back through the File tab and see if it wants to charge you for something else.  Like if you upgraded or added a state return.  Did you already efile the federal?

i tried efile the federal previously which got rejected due to incorrect AGI for the previous year. I am trying to change it to by mail so that i can complete the submission and send my documents asap. i do not see anything pending on the turbo tax fee. is there anything else that can stop the file by mail option?
