Can I add a Third Party Designee to my TurboTax return and still e-file? How do I do that?

Yes, you can add a third party designee on your form 1040 in TurboTax and still e-file your tax return. However, you would need to use the desktop version of the program to do that. You would use the Forms menu option and choose your Form 1040, then scroll down to the bottom of form 1040 and complete the section for Third Party Designee, below line 38.

I am using the 2025 Premier version on my desktop.  When I go to the 1040 form, I can not add the THIRD PARTY DESIGNEE.  The program will not allow changing the block.

You can enter your Designee on the on the Information Worksheet and it will flow to Form 1040.
