If you do not qualify and want to delete the state or form, here is how.
First, verify you don't need a WA return- no to both of these:
- Federal EIC? -The Working Families tax credit is available and should be used by anyone claiming the Earned Income Credit on the federal return.
- WA capital gains tax if your long term capital gains exceed $278,000.
If you don't need to file a WA state return:
- Continue going through the program to the file section.
- When the screen asks "How do you want to file your returns?"
- Locate the WA state return.
- Change the selection to I will file later or do not file.
- File the federal and any other states.
Another option:
To delete the form and state online,
- in the left hand menu -go to tax tools then select tools then select Delete a form
- delete all of the WA forms listed
- log out and clear cache and cookies
- log back in
Some programs include the state for free so the program thinks your bundle is paid even though you didn't pay anything.
