I have filed for extension and have my taxes saved on my TurboTax Premier desktop version. The hurricane Helene has damaged many things in my home, among them is my desktop computer. I can no longer get it to open. Now I am worried as to what can I do to retrieve my tax return as it hasn't been filed.
Is there a way for me to retrieve it online?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.

No. Unfortunately, there is no way to retrieve a .taxXXXX file that was created with a desktop version of TurboTax online.
Sorry no. If you used the Desktop installed programs the only copy is on that computer and any backups you made, even if you efiled them. You need the file ending in .tax2023 to open in the program.
