Can a pay the irs and state with a credit card

Yes you can pay the IRS taxes due with a credit card.  Please be aware that there is a convenience fee that is charged by a third party payment processor.  Visit the following link for more information:

Turbo tax does not provide the option to pay by credit card because states have different rules.  Check your state's tax department web site.  If they offer credit card payments, tell Turbo tax that you will mail a check instead of bank withdrawal, and then do the credit card on your own on the state web site instead of mailing a check.
