Can a parent claim a purchase of pc for son who is in college?

Pc was purchased because he needed it for his school. if claimed where does it go in the TurboTax ? what is needed to claim it?

Can a parent claim a purchase of pc for son who is in college?

The purchase of a PC can count as education expenses for the American Opportunity Credit. However, you can only claim it together with tuition if your son is a dependent on your tax return. You claim it as required equipment when you enter your son's form 1098-T.
