So I have an LLC with a 12 digit California SOS File Number that starts with a B. It looks like California started issuing LLC's a number starting with a B in 2025.
When I try to enter this number on Form 568, I get a forms error stating that the number is invalid and it will not let me file until corrected. The box stays red. If I remove the B or type in a different number, the error and red go away but this wouldn't be correct.
Am I supposed to be entering something different here or is this an issue with TurboTax Home and Business (desktop edition)?

According to the Forms Availability Table, California Form 568 is not ready for e-filing. It's possible the SOS 12-digit number requirements will include the alpha-numeric option in the update scheduled to be released February 12, 2026. You might wait until after that date to reopen TurboTax Home and Business and try entering your SOS number again.
Thanks for the reply. I see that now in the forms table.
There is nothing in the application that let you know it was not available for print or e-filing. It came up to fill out based on how I answered the California questions and I was actively working on it inside of Turbotax. It would have been good to put in a placeholder that said the form was not ready yet. If that numbering issue wasn't there, I'm pretty sure it would have let me print it out to mail if I couldn't e-file.
I'll wait until the 12th, update, and try again and see if the issue remains. I'm guessing there is not way to look at a change log or list of upcoming changes that will be released on that date?
The only way to know what forms are available and updates on others is using TurboTax Form Availability.
Hello,
I have downloaded the latest updates today and I still receive the same error. Form 568 does not appear to let you enter a "B" in the front of the number which is the new number for LLC's issued in 2025.

Hi @PatriciaV
I wanted to see if there was any feedback? I was really hoping to finish up my taxes this weekend and this is the only thing holding me up.
Thanks.
We have tested this experience and feel it would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2025" file to test this issue further.
If you would be willing to send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information, please follow these instructions:
In TurboTax Desktop, open your return and go to Online in the TurboTax header. (On a Mac computer, choose Share or Help.)
We will then be able to see the same experience you are having. If we are able to determine the cause, we'll reply here and perhaps provide you with a resolution.
A California Secretary of State (SOS) file number is a minimum of 7 digits long, a maximum of 12 digits long, and can only contain the numbers 0-9. If the SOS number contains a letter (such as "B") that letter should NOT be entered - only enter the numbers.
