Bug Report: Form 5695 QMID validation error for Amana/Daikin/Goodman (I7Q6)

I am trying to enter my energy-efficient boiler information on Form 5695. The software requires a "Qualified Manufacturer ID" (QMID). The official IRS-registered code for Amana/Daikin/Goodman is I7Q6.
However, TurboTax is blocking the entry with a validation error stating the format must be "Letter-Number-Letter-Number." Because  I7Q6 starts with a number, the software will not allow me to proceed. This is a legitimate IRS code from the manufacturer's certification statement. Is Turbotax working on a fix this on their end?

I owe on my taxes and already paid to file with the withdrawal happening on 02/02/26. What happens if I cannot efile before then?

A QMID coded is in the format letter-number-letter-number.  The QMID code you are referring to starts with capital letter 'I', not a the number 1.

This problem with the code has been reported to the TurboTax Moderators of this forum today.  A ETA for a solution is not yet available.

Yes, I know it's an "I" as in the letter and not a number.

I am having the same issue when the code is properly input as I7Q6. TurboTax will not let me  e-file because of this error.

Same issue as before. I7Q6 is not being accepted. Spoke with a TurboTax expert as I am a premium member and was advised that the issue is with Daiken and they are routing it up to product support.

Same problem, customer service is aware of the issue and currently has no solution other than to wait.

It’s not Daikin it’s turbo tax it works with other Tax services go on Reddit

I am also having the same issue. It seems to be a defect on the Turbo Tax end. I am just waiting on that to e-file. Turbo Tax already took my money so I think we would all appreciate if you fixed this ASAP. Also, we are all entering the letter i not 1 so that isn't the issue.

I don't know about the online version, but the QMID field in my desktop version of Deluxe is case sensitive: It accepts "L7Q6" but not "l7q6".

This was fixed on turbo taxes end yesterday but my file got rejected by the irs and stated it’s an error on the irs’s end. Won’t be fixed until feb 13
