Box 15 employer id number is required even though I’m in Texas. I called corporate, they told me they don’t have one and that it’s all zeroes. Turbo tax says invalid.

Texas does not have individual state income tax. You can leave Box 15 and the employer ID on your W-2 blank since there would be no TX state tax withholding.

these automated a.i replies gotta stop. Can’t even read my post properly without spewing some auto generated nonsense from the first google search. Turbo tax REQUIRES box 15 have numbers even though I am in Texas. Is that a more clear and typed out issue?

Leave Boxes 15, 16, and 17 completely empty. Do not select "TX" from the dropdown, and do not put $0.00. Just leave them blank. If Tx is appearing in the drop-down, select the drop down and select a blank space within it.
