The software may not have determined that you are qualified for the credit. Are you filing a married filing jointly tax return?
If so, to qualify for Child and Dependent Care Expenses, each taxpayer must report earned income. Make sure that wages have been correctly enter into the program:
IRS Publication 503 page 4 states:
You Must Have Earned Income
To claim the credit, you (and your spouse if filing jointly) must have earned income during the year.
However, your spouse is treated as having earned income for any month that they are:
Hi there, yes, both spouse and I have reported earned income through W2s. The software is saying that I can add my other dependent, even with $0 expenses entered, but he is not listed as a dependent under selected options.
Make sure that both of your dependents would qualify for the Child and Dependent Care Credit. If only one of your dependents would qualify for the credit, then you will not see both dependents listed in the drop down box.
