Borrowers Defense to Repayment

Hello,

 

I live in Indiana. I had my Art Institute student loans forgiven through Borrowers Defense. The school closed a couple of years ago. Indiana's laws about whether or not student loans forgiven with Borrowers Defense are state taxable are vague. Please, are they taxable in Indiana or not?

Borrowers Defense to Repayment

Since your school went out of business, it is not taxable according to  Indiana Department of Revenue's page on student loan forgiveness.
