Also, every time the Turbotax screen performs a function (calculation, printing, saving), the Turbotax app minimizes itself to my taskbar.

After checking blocks to e-file both Federal and State Returns and checking charge to credit card for the State Return, message asked to save files. When I clicked OK, my computer froze and went to blue screen. After spending 8 hours on the phone yesterday with numerous people from the help desk who graciously tried all the solutions they could think of, I asked the last Technician if the State Return could be causing the problem. I unclicked on e-filing the State Return, and I was able to complete filing the Federal Return. The Technician found a line in my State's filing requirements (Arizona) that said State Return could not be e-filed until Federal Return was accepted by IRS. I have always e-filed both at the same time in years past. Evidently updates have not been issued to address this as it looks like others are having the same problem. Hope this helps others avoid a lot of frustration.
I don’t see an answer to this problem. Paid etc ready to file - wants me to save, hit save, nothing happens.
I would suggest logging out of your TurboTax account, clear cache and delete cookies. Then log back into your account and see if you are having the same issue. If you still have the same issue, I have provided a FAQ link below for TurboTax customer service for further assistance:
