Been using turbotax free many yrs, now saying must upgrade to deluxe b/c of sch 5. hlth tx cred. If I qualify for the FreeFile and use, is that free even if I need sch 5?

I have been using turbotax for free many years.  Started filling out info and now saying I must upgrade and pay for Deluxe because of sch 5 Obamacare tax credit.  I saw on tax booklet cover based on my salary and other info I input, it is saying could use the FreeFile Program.  Can I use that for free even if I need the sch 5 and 8962 form?  Or because I need those forms, can't use the freefile anyways?  Please let me know.  When I tried using the turbotax freefile program link and it said I qualified, looked like it brought me right back to the same turbotax login screen been using for years.  Just do not want to put in a bunch of info with the freefile only to be told with that can't use because of sch5 and 8962 form.  I was able to file for free before even with the need for the 8962.  Just trying to figure out if I need sch 5 this year, do I have to pay for upgrade regardless of salary and other even though it says I qualify for the free?  Thanks!

Yes the Free File website is free and includes the schedules.  But you have to set up a NEW account over there or it takes you back to regular Turbo Tax.

The Turbo Tax Free File program is free for federal and state.  And has more forms than the Federal Free Edition, like Schedules A, B, C , D, E, F, EIC, H, K-1, SE,  etc.

NOTE:  You will have to setup a new account with a new username and new password or it will take you back to regular Turbo Tax.

To qualify for the Tax Freedom website  you just need to meet one of these 3 things 

AGI $34,000 or less

Active duty military with AGI of $66,000 or less

OR qualify for EIC (earned income credit.)

In order to use the Free File program, you have to start it at a special website.  Click on the bottom Orange button I Qualify Start Now and set up a NEW account
