How do I report a $1000 cash prize won by my 6 year old son (art contest). Note: I did not receive any type of tax form (yet) but the sponsor did request his SS#.
My son has no additional income other than a small amount of savings account interest.

At $1000 of income he will have to pay SS tax on a 1099-MISC.
You'll have to prepare the return for him.

Can I file this 1099-MISC on my tax return (married, joint)?
