Husband lost his job therefore his health insurance.What are the steps to getting insurance or file for exception until he finds another full time job with benefits?

Not sure if we can afford market place insurance but we do not want to pay penalty.

As of January 1, 2019, there is no longer a mandate for health insurance. 2018 is the last year there will be a penalty for not having health insurance.
