I've been advised today by management that the work on the depreciation section of TurboTax is continuing and expected to be completed with an update coming the evening of Thursday, February 19th.
If you are using the business software, see here. For individual returns, see here. You can bookmark those sites as they are the same each year and updated. Some forms have it available.
I am using the Windows version of TurboTax Home & Business and I'm unable to add and asset because the Assets/Depreciation is still unavailable as the original post indicates. When will it be available on the Desktop version. It's the last thing I'm waiting for in order to file. Thanks.
Amy - thanks for the link to the section status webpage. Bad news is that...it's wrong..at least for Deprecation and Assets. The page you reference says it is 'ready' for both Federal and State...but in talking to Customer Success, they agreed that this section is not yet updated for 2025. Oh well.
Well...glad is isn't a bug for either of us but simply that turbotax doesn't have this section updated for 2025. See my response to Amy for some additional details as to what I was told by Customer Service at Intuit.

And I am seeing Deprecationat and Amortization now LIVE. Happy happy joy! Thanks to all.
hi has it been ready? today is Feb 24 already and I don't see it updated. Do you have time frame?
Hi - I saw amortization and deprecation 'go live' on my online turbotax version (in CA) on Thursday, Feb. 19th...and I was able to complete those sections. If you are still not live, I would 1. clear your cache in your browser 2. call turbotax customer service and do a screen share with them. good luck
Yes, it is ready for both TurboTax Online and TurboTax Desktop. Go through your rental activity assets to update and add any new ones.
Try clearing the cookies and cache. It handles many issues that seem nonsensical on a regular basis with online activity. Watch to be sure you are selecting 'all time' as example. Do not use selections like 'last hour' for those browsers that give you options.
Once this is complete open your return and try again.
What's happening ? Are the 2025 depreciation and amortization rules available yet in Turbo tax for 2025
at least for me, who posted this original question, the deprecation and amortization function came online on 2/19 for turbotax online with CA as state. if you are not seeing it, I'm told that clearing your cache in your browser (assuming online version) can help. And calling Intuit directly for more input if you are having trouble.
