Amount in Schedule A, Line 5a, State Tax paid, is incorrect and does not match the correct amount shown on VA760CG Line26

In Scheule A, Line 5a, I was expecting to see the total VA taxes paid thru payroll deductions (W2) and what was paid through VA Estimated tax payments. The total VA tax is correctly reflected in the VA return form, VA760CG Line 26. What could be going on?

Update:

I figured it out! When you put start the VA Estimated Tax input by default for the 4th quarter payment, the system put the date of 01/15/2026. Hence Turbo tax was considering it to be 2026 Estimated tax and not 2025 Estimated tax!!!!!! This is definitely bug in the system that TurboTax needs to fix.

When you enter the estimates you paid you are suppose to enter the actual date you paid it.

Yup! However, it was not clear and the disconnect was that the value was used differently in Schedule A vs VA760CG. If TuboTax would have ignored the 4th payment with date in 2026 for both the forms, then it would have been consistent. But to ignore in one place and count for it in the other place is incorrect design. Also, they should not be putting the default dates in the Estimated tax. In addition, the field doesn't show the entire date
