Am I supposed to enter if my dependent is blind? I was not given an option for the dependent, only for myself or my husband.

There extra deduction for the blind is used to allow for a higher standard deduction for a taxpayer and spouse. This won't apply to a dependent unless they are filing their own tax return.

Do indicate in your dependents My Info section, if they are disabled. Not all blind individuals would consider themselves disable. The IRS defines the disable as:

    • This is someone with a doctor’s certification that says the person’s condition has lasted, or will last, at least a year or lead to death.
    • A person is also disabled for tax purposes if they can’t “engage in substantial gainful activity” because they mentally or physically can’t do so.

See link below for medical deductions that are specific to the blind, if you itemize. These would apply for your dependent.
