After filing my 2018 taxes via Turbotax I noted that the solar credit was not the expected 30%. Why would this happen and how can I fix it to get the full 30%

I own the house and am in Arizona. When I was completing the solar portion of my taxes when I entered the solar cost in the solar area my return only increased approximately $8000. My current total federal return is a little over $12K. With my itemization and deductions, I think it should be higher. Could someone look at my file online?

The credit can only offset any taxes due, not give you an additional refund.

However, you can carry over any unused portion for up to 5 years.

So next year do I put in the same purchase amount from 2018 and it should credit the remainder of the 30%?
